Step 1
You can use vanilla extract instead of vanilla sugar. If replacing baking soda with baking powder, use about twice as much.

Beat the eggs with salt using a mixer on low speed or use a whisk.

Add the sugar.

Pour in the milk and mix until a light foam appears.

Melt the butter, let it cool slightly, then add it to the bowl along with the vanilla sugar. Mix.

Lastly, sift in the flour mixed with baking soda. Sifting helps aerate the batter, making the waffles fluffier. You might need more or less flour - adjust by consistency.

Mix the batter with a mixer until smooth and no lumps remain. The texture should be like thick sour cream and slowly drip off a spoon - this ensures soft waffles.

Brush the electric grill with a little vegetable oil and preheat it.

Spoon the batter into the waffle molds.

Bake for about 5-6 minutes, until lightly golden. Don’t over bake or the waffles may become hard.
