Use high-quality all-purpose flour. Choose a large, grade A egg. Melt and cool the butter in advance. Adjust the amount of sugar to your taste.

In a bowl, mix sour cream and baking powder. Let it sit for 2–3 minutes. You can use any fat percentage sour cream (e.g., 15%). If you prefer, substitute baking powder with baking soda, since sour cream is acidic.

Add the egg, sugar, and vanilla sugar. Whisk until smooth.

Pour in the melted butter and mix.

Gradually add sifted flour, mixing with a spoon until the dough forms.

The dough should be thick and not runny. If it's too soft, add a bit more flour.

Transfer the dough to a piping bag with a large “closed star” nozzle.

Pipe 2–2.5 inch (5–6 cm) long cookies onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them apart. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 12–15 minutes. Baking time depends on your oven and preference. Don’t let them burn underneath.
