Step 1
Prepare the ingredients. Boil and cool the eggs that will go into the filling. The amount of flour is approximate—you will adjust it based on the batter consistency. Milk of any fat content will work.
Step 2
Since the batter is made quickly, start by preheating the oven to 180°C (350°F). Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Wash and dry the green onions thoroughly. Chop them into rings. Melt the butter using any preferred method.

Step 3
Peel and dice the boiled eggs.
Step 4
Place the chopped onions and eggs in a bowl, then pour in the melted butter. Add salt and pepper to taste, then mix well. You can also make this pour-over pie with cabbage, apples, ground meat, or any other filling of your choice.
Step 5
Now, prepare the batter. Crack the eggs into a bowl and add salt. Whisk until slightly foamy—using a mixer is optional. Pour in warm milk, which will help mix the batter more easily and reduce lumps. Stir until smooth.

Step 6
Sift in the flour, starting with about ⅔ of the total amount. Add baking powder.
Step 7
Stir the flour into the batter. Check the consistency—if it's too runny, add more flour. The final texture should be similar to pancake or sponge cake batter. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes to allow any lumps to dissolve. Stir again.
Step 8
Choose a suitable baking dish. A 20 cm (8-inch) round ceramic dish is used in this recipe. Grease it with a piece of butter. Sprinkle the bottom and sides with semolina to create a non-stick layer.

Step 9
Pour half of the batter into the dish and spread the filling evenly on top.
Step 10
Pour the remaining batter over the filling, smoothing it gently with a spoon.
Step 11
Bake for 15-20 minutes until the top starts to set. Remove the pie from the oven, brush the top with a whisked egg yolk, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Return it to the oven and bake for another 20 minutes. Baking time may vary depending on your oven and the size of the pie.

Step 12
How to check if the pie is done? Insert a toothpick into the center and pull it out—if it comes out clean, the pie is ready. Serve warm. Enjoy your meal!
