Step 1
You can use the fish whole, in steaks, or as fillets. Thaw it first by transferring it from the freezer to the bottom shelf of the fridge.

If you have a whole fish, cut it into serving pieces after removing the head and gutting it. Rinse the pieces under cold water and dry with paper towels — excess moisture can make the dish watery. Season the fish pieces with salt and ground black pepper on both sides. You can also add other spices to taste.

Take a baking dish and place the pink salmon pieces inside. You can line the dish with foil to make cleaning easier. Drizzle the fish with lemon juice to soften the flavor and add a pleasant aroma. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on each piece (or use sour cream instead). Grate the cheese using a medium grater.
