Step 1
You can use fresh or frozen green beans. Frozen ones don’t need to be thawed beforehand as they will be boiled anyway. Adjust the amount of garlic to taste — use more or less as desired. You can also use your favorite spices besides pepper.
Step 2
If using fresh beans, rinse them, trim the tough ends, and cut into pieces about 1.5–2 inches (4–5 cm) long. Boil water in a saucepan, add salt, then drop in the beans (add frozen ones directly). After the water comes back to a boil, cook for a couple of minutes. Drain and immediately rinse with cold water (tap water is fine) — this helps the beans retain their vibrant green color.

Step 3
Leave the beans in a colander to drain fully. Heat a skillet over medium heat, pour in vegetable oil, and add the blanched beans. Peel and press the garlic through a garlic press into the pan. Season with salt and pepper. Stir to combine. You can add any additional spices to your liking.
Step 4
Sauté the beans for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Keep the heat at medium. At the end, sprinkle with sesame seeds. Turn off the heat, cover the skillet with a lid, and let the beans sit for 10 minutes — they’ll absorb the flavor and aroma of the garlic and spices.
Step 5
Serve the sautéed green beans with garlic. Enjoy your meal!
