Advice 1

For orzo pasta with shrimp in a cream sauce, the best cheeses are those that add creaminess and a rich flavor. Here are some great options: Parmesan – A classic choice for pasta, this hard, aromatic cheese has an intense, nutty flavor that enhances the delicate sauce and shrimp beautifully. Pecorino – A sheep’s milk cheese similar to Parmesan but with a bolder, saltier taste. It highlights the shrimp’s flavor and adds depth to the dish. Mascarpone – A creamy, soft cheese with a neutral taste that gives the sauce a velvety texture and a smooth cream base, perfectly complementing the shrimp. Ricotta – A light and airy cheese that adds a delicate touch to the sauce without making the dish too heavy. It can be mixed directly into the sauce for a lighter texture. Feta – This Greek cheese provides a slight tanginess and a salty, briny flavor that contrasts beautifully with the mild cream sauce and the natural sweetness of shrimp. Grana Padano – Similar to Parmesan but with a milder and creamier taste, making it a great choice for those who prefer a softer cheese flavor in their dish. Gorgonzola or Blue Cheese – If you enjoy blue cheeses, a small amount will add a bold, slightly spicy note that contrasts well with the delicate orzo pasta and shrimp.

Advice 2

For this recipe, you can use any type of cream, but keep in mind that the higher the fat content, the richer and more caloric the dish will be.

Step 1
First, prepare all the ingredients from the list. You can use any hard cheese, but it should melt well. I use young Parmesan. You can use either raw or pre-cooked frozen shrimp. I use raw shrimp in shells.
Step 2
Shrimp should be thawed at room temperature. Never thaw them in warm water, as this will cause them to lose all their juices, making them dry when cooked. Once thawed, peel the shrimp. The easiest way is to use scissors to cut the shell along the back from head to tail. Then, in one motion, remove the shell and the intestinal vein.

Step 3
Grate the cheese using a fine grater.
Step 4
Boil the Orzo pasta in salted boiling water. How long should you cook orzo? Follow the instructions on the package. I cooked it for 11 minutes (until al dente). Drain the water from the pasta.
Step 5
Peel the garlic and cut it lengthwise into three parts. Heat a pan, add olive oil, and fry the garlic until golden. This way, it will release all its aroma into the oil. Then, remove the garlic.

Step 6
Fry the shrimp in the garlic-infused oil for 1.5 minutes on each side.
Step 7
Pour the cream into the pan with the shrimp and bring the sauce to a gentle boil over low heat. Add salt to taste.
Step 8
Add the grated cheese and stir. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the cheese is completely melted.
