Step 1
First, prepare all the necessary ingredients. The butter should be at room temperature, so take it out of the fridge in advance.
Step 2
Rinse the walnuts and lightly toast them in a dry skillet.

Step 3
Chop the walnuts finely with a knife. You can substitute walnuts with any other nuts to your liking: hazelnuts, pecans, cashews, etc.
Step 4
Place the softened room temperature butter in a mixing bowl. Beat with a mixer until fluffy.
Step 5
Continue beating while gradually adding sweetened condensed milk.

Step 6
You should end up with a fluffy, smooth mixture. If desired, add a bit of vanilla extract or cocoa powder for a chocolate version of the cream.
Step 7
Add chocolate cereal balls and chopped walnuts to the cream. You can also add dried fruits like raisins, chopped dried apricots or prunes, dried cherries, or cranberries.
Step 8
Mix everything with a spoon. All the cereal balls should be well-coated with cream so that the cake holds its shape when removed from the mold.

Step 9
Line the sides of a 5.5–6.5 inch (14–16 cm) cake ring with plastic wrap and place it on a serving plate. Spoon the mixture into the ring and smooth the top. You can also decorate the top with more cereal balls – it’s best to do this right away so they stick as the cream sets. Otherwise, they’ll fall off when slicing. Chill the cake for 3–4 hours until set.
Step 10
Once firm, remove the ring. Decorate the top of the cake with fresh fruit and serve. It’s best to eat this Chocolate Cereal Ball Cake the same day or by the next – by day three, the cereal becomes soggy and the cake loses its taste. Enjoy!
