Chicken Patties with Hard Cheese and Garlic

French cuisine is traditionally divided into two branches – regional folk and refined aristocratic. Regional dishes have been made for centuries in different areas of the country. Aristocratic cuisine developed under the Bourbon court when Paris became the fashion capital of the world. Its unique dishes are known for their variety and sophistication. Fast food is not widespread in France, as it contradicts their food culture and tradition of long dinners at home or in restaurants. Today I offer you a recipe for a popular French-style dish – chicken patties with cheese, which I hope you’ll enjoy for their juiciness and tenderness.

Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients. You can substitute hard cheese with processed cheese, but I personally prefer it with hard cheese.
Step 2
Wash the chicken fillet, pat it dry with paper towels, and chop it finely. If you prefer not to chop, you can grind it through a meat grinder using a large-holed plate (about 0.2 inches). Grate the cheese finely. Press the garlic through a garlic press.

Step 3
In a deep bowl, combine chopped chicken, grated cheese, garlic, crack in an egg, add sour cream, mayonnaise, salt, pepper, and mix well. Gradually add flour – the amount depends on your ingredients and ranges from 1 to 2 tablespoons. The mixture should not be too liquid and should hold shape well when forming patties.
Step 4
Let the mixture sit for 10–15 minutes after adding the flour. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet, spoon in the patties, and fry until golden brown on both sides.
Step 5
These uniquely tender and quick-to-make cheese patties are ready! Serve hot with any side dish. Enjoy your meal!
