Step 1
Prepare all the necessary ingredients. If using frozen chicken wings, thaw them first by leaving them at room temperature for a few hours or using the microwave defrost setting. If the honey is crystallized, warm it slightly in the microwave or in a water bath.
Step 2
Cut off the smallest part of each chicken wing, as it is not useful for cooking—it contains little meat and tends to burn during baking.

Step 3
In a large bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, and vegetable oil. Add dried basil, salt, and ground pepper. Since soy sauce is already salty, add only a little salt or skip it altogether. Stir well.
Step 4
Place the chicken wings into the bowl with the sauce and mix thoroughly so that they are evenly coated on all sides. Cover the bowl with a lid or plastic wrap and let it marinate for about an hour at room temperature. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180°C.
Step 5
Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Avoid using foil, as it may stick to the wings during baking, making it difficult to remove. Arrange the wings evenly on the tray and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30-40 minutes. The exact time depends on your oven.

Step 6
The wings are ready when they turn golden brown and crispy. Remove the baking tray from the oven and transfer the wings onto serving plates.
Step 7
Serve the honey-soy chicken wings as a standalone appetizer or pair them with a potato side dish. Enjoy your meal!
